What you’ll need to work as a SAS doctor
To work as a SAS doctor in NHSScotland, you must have the following:
- At least 4 years of full-time postgraduate training, or equivalent. A relevant specialty programme should account for at least 2 years of your training. Alternatively, you’ll need equivalent experience in your chosen specialty.
- A full registration to practice with the General Medical Council.
Many people choose to become a SAS doctor as an alternative to a career as a consultant or general practitioner.
