Located on the west coast of Scotland, NHS Ayrshire and Arran works closely with the 3 Integrated Joint Boards in East, North and South Ayrshire. The IJBs are responsible for planning and resourcing health and care to improve quality and outcomes for their populations.

NHS Ayrshire and Arran covers an area of some 2,500 square miles. It serves around 368,000 citizens, approximately 7% of the population of Scotland. The Health Board employs about 11,000 staff.
