Hi, I'm Kate. I'm a domestic supervisor.
I started work for NHS 10 years ago as a domestic assistant, when I just moved to Scotland.
I decided to become a domestic supervisor to push myself into new challenges and to gain more experience with domestic services.
In my role as a domestic supervisor, I make up rotas for the next day, check if my staff have any issues and the equipment to work. I answer the phone calls and do some store ordering and monitoring.
The best part of my job is if everything goes smoothly, my staff don't have an issue, and my staff are happy.
I think the NHS is great organisation to work with. We have lots of benefits, annual leave, and pension.
The most important skills for my role is management skills, people skills, communication, and motivation.
I'm very proud work for NHS and I'm proud of what we do to provide a safe and clean environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
